Elizabeth Jane Hurley was born on June 10, 1965 in Hampshire, England, United Kingdom to an army officer father and an elementary schoolteacher mother, Hurley grew up in the suburb of Basingstoke, England.

She is the daughter of Oscar winning actor Jon Voight and actress Marcheline Bertrand, used her middle name as her last name (French translation of beautiful), probably in order to succeed independently of her father's success as an actor.

At the age of 21, Elizabeth Hurley played her first role in Bruce Beresford's movie "Aria" in 1987. After a few roles in television, she met Hugh Grant when they worked on the film "Remando al Viento" (1987).

Then, in 1992, Hurley made her Hollywood film debut as a terrorist (she can terrorize me any day) in the Wesley Snipes action drama Passenger 57.

Several movie roles followed, including parts in 1998's Permanent Midnight, and 1999's My Favorite Martian, EDtv and Austin Powers 2: The Spy Who Shagged Me.

Besides acting she produced the movie "Extreme Measures" (1996), which she found the script for.

After a lonh relationship, she and Hugh Grant parted ways in 2000, triggering rumors that the breakup stemmed from a disagreement over having children together. Liz began a romance with millionaire movie producer Stephen Bing in 2001.

In 2002 she gave birth to a baby boy, Damian Charles, and hit the headlines once more when multi-millionaire Steve Bing initially denied being the father.
