George Timothy Clooney was born on the 6th of May, 1961, in Lexington, Kentucky. His mother, Nina, was a former state beauty queen, while his dad, Nick Clooney, was a TV newscaster, actor and talk-show host of great repute around the Cincinnati area.

At the age of 15 he saw the movie "The Pride of the Yankees: That was it for him, he knew what he wanted to do from that point forward. He wanted to play professional baseball for his beloved Cincinnati Reds.

He went to LA looking for a cinama career and worked on construction sites, sold insurance door to door, drew caricatures in the malls and sold lemonade from a stall. Finally he landed a part in a hospital drama 'E/R' in 1984, which wasn't successful, but it gave Clooney air time and started him on a run of TV series and low budget film roles.

George Clooney attended college in Kentucky, he quickly became bored with it. In his owns words he said "I partied allot, got drunk allot" He drifted about not knowing exactly what he wanted to do with his life

Clooney first came to audience's attention when he guest-starred on the TV shows 'The Facts of Life,' 'E/R' (not that one), and in the films 'Return of the Killer Tomatoes' and 'Grizzly 2: The Predator.'

Clooney returned to television, executive producing as well as acting in the two-hour live broadcast of "Fail Safe" (CBS, 2000), a black-and-white homage to the days of live television adapted from the Cold War novel by Harvey Wheeler and Eugene Burdick. Superbly acted and flawlessly produced, this welcome addition amidst the standard small screen fare failed to register with younger audiences weaned on the razzmatazz of MTV.

George Clooney has had a reputation for being a ladies man. All though according to some of the girls he went to high school with he was very shy. I am sure he has had his womanizing moments but I think he receives that reputation from being straight forward about his views on marriage and kids.
