Nicolette Sheridan was born on November 21, 1963 in Worthington, England. Her mother is actress Sally Sheridan and her grandmother was actress Dinah Sheridan. She has a half-brother, Nick Savalas, son of actor Telly Savalas.

Her first professional role on television was in 1986 on Paper Dolls, followed by her first movie appearance the following year in The Sure Thing.

She got her start in the minor teen classic, The Sure Thing. Nicollette had a long running role on Knots Landing. After the ending of the show everyone thought her career as a successful actress was over. Than Nicollette got the break of a life time when she landed the role as Edie Britt on Desperate Housewives.

On November 15, 2004, Sheridan was cited by the FCC for the introductory skit which opened that evening's Monday Night Football telecast, in which Terrell Owens and the Eagles played the Dallas Cowboys at Texas Stadium.

Nicollette Sheridan was married to actor Harry Hamlin from 1991 through 1993 and dated singer Michael Bolton for a time. Her longest relationship was a six-year involvement (1979-1985) with teen idol Leif Garrett; she met him when she was fifteen years old and for a time lived with him in his mother's home.

She has recently become engaged to be married to Swedish actor Niklas Soderblom.

Nicollette was nominated for a 2005 Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress for her role of Edie Britt on Desperate Housewives.
