Tara Reid was born in Wyckoff, New Jersey to Donna and Tom Reid, both of whom are teachers. Reid has Irish, English, Hungarian, French and Italian ancestry.

By the time Tara was five years old, she was showing off, singing and dancing on the tables in the local mall. A New York talent agent caught her impromptu act and immediately gave her a contract to work in commercials.

Reid moved to Hollywood at age 18 to pursue acting, eventually landing a role on the soap opera Days of Our Lives and a short but splashy appearance as Bunny Lebowski in the 1998 Coen brothers film The Big Lebowski.

In 1994, Tara was cast on the long time teen institution, "Saved By the Bell". The show is not exactly known for creating successful actresses, but Tara proved to be the exception./p>

Tara Reid spent the late 1990s appearing more often on the cover of tabloid magazines than on screen. Her extroverted social life soon gave her a reputation as a party girl.

She was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for her portrayal of the supermodel Gia Carangi who died of AIDS. She received an Emmy nomination as well as a Cable Ace nomination for her work in the TNT movie GEORGE WALLACE (co-starring Gary Sinise.)
